Orleans Parish Medical Society's physician leaders and staff envisioned the opportunity to have a greater impact in the community. They recognized that only through a educational and charitable foundation could they take advantage of the many opportunities for public and private grants to support outreach, educational, research and innovation initiatives. In 2004, this vision became a reality through the formation of the Greater New Orleans Medical Foundation. This foundation was created by physicians for physicians and their patients to support causes which help our community and contribute to healthy lifestyles and well-being. 

We are pleased to provide a donation to  the Medical Association of Southeast Louisiana for the development of a confidential, complimentary physician counseling program for its members.  This program will be launched in September and enable those physicians who are striving to achieve personal and professional balance to receive professional counseling.
