The Foundation is dedicated to advancing the practice of medicine and improving population health through education, community service, research and innovation.
The purpose of the Foundation is to develop education and resources for physicians and other health care clinicians and the general, and to develop community service, public affairs, and research activities, and such other charitable purposes as the Board may determine within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Enhancing the health and wellbeing of physicians and other health care clinicians;
- Enhancing the health of the citizens of the region;
- Improving quality and increasing the accessibility of medical and health services to the general public;
- Conducting educational programs to enhance the knowledge of physicians and other health care clinicians and/or the public about health care issues;
- Encouraging and funding research and innovation in health care and technology;
- Encouraging and developing physician leadership programs;
- Assisting in disaster planning, coordination and response;
- Funding other tax-exempt organizations which share the mission of the Foundation;
- Promoting volunteerism; and
- Establishing fundraising.
The IRS has approved the Greater New Orleans Medical Foundation as a tax-exempt organization. Tax I.D. # 20-1650323
